Jedi mind tricks

There’s a new cool game controller that will land on the market in the near future (?).

Imagine taking charge of your hero of choice in your favourite FPS only by the slightest touch of a thought. Then in some intense shoot-out fire off a round of burning missiles just by concentrating.
This is a very logical successor of the handheld controllers we have had for some time now. And it’s probably going to be less than perfect in the beginning, but with developer packs and some enthusiasm, this is going to transform the way we all interact with computers, games, and social newtorks!
From the Emotiv Systems website:
“Project Epoc is a headset that uses a set of sensors to tune into electric signals naturally produced by the brain to detect player thoughts, feelings and expression. It connects wirelessly with all game platforms from consoles to PCs. Project Epoc now makes it possible for games to be controlled and influenced by the player’s mind. “

This beast of a repelling/attracting thingy has just been put in the ground near the French-Swiss border, it’s all part of a craaazy experiment to find the origin of matter. A cause that I for one find very satisfying. It makes sense to try and find out what we are really made of..

“Scientists involved in the 15-year experiment — smashing particles together at high speed — could bring new knowledge to the secrets of the universe, such as the possible existence of multiple dimensions. “

The ScienceDaily writes about a new hand held device to analyze chemical components anywhere, i.e. outside a lab. It’s kind of like the tricorder in StarTrek.. Or at least it tries to be.. Have a look!
